It's been awhile....

Sorry about the long time between posts...I've been sort of busy, Devin started pre-school which has gone quite smoothly for a 2 year old, and then she got her 1st bug from school, so mama's been tending to the child. I really want to make this advent calendar, it's by Teresa McFayden, a fabulous crafter I discovered last night mindlessly surfing the net, it would be for our house, not my etsy shop, because it would take entirely way too much time and I wouldn't have time to do it again, it's made with magnets...isn't it cute, I love how she uses all the different number styles and of course the overall retro-awesome-ness? Oh, I'm thinking of doing my 1st blog or etsy shop giveaway but I'm trying to think of how to work it out & what to give away...

Boo hoo...

I finally did it, I listed some dresses on etsy with my absolute most favorite prized fabric...Let's Play House by Alexander Henry. I have been hoarding this delicious fabric ( I have it in pink and white:):) for about a year now...it is so hard to come by. I had planned on making curtains for Devin's new room (which will be done in about 6 months) but I've decided it doesn't really go with the other fabric I've been stocking up on for the quilt I'll make for her big girl bed (she's still in her crib) It is so Brady Bunch sixties fantastic...I feel like Jan and Marcia have invited some raven haired friends over to do laundry and clean!

Lucky Break...

Ok, I know all of us have those fantastic crafting moments once in a while where everything seems to work out so perfectly that you want to (or actually do) dance! I had one of those moments yesterday, although it was more of a browsing/shopping for supplies moment on etsy. I was searching for some vintage chenille (which I've been having a very hard time obtaining the "good stuff", by the way) when I saw this beauty in a shop called MaterialGirl1968...I IMMEDIATELY purchased it, and have already started scheming lovely creations for kids' holiday wear, very excited to receive this large lucious piece, which reminds me of candy canes.

Sunday morning...

As usual, I'm up at 5:30, and Chris and Devin are asleep...I have already ripped out the seams of a pair of pants for Devin to fix, & planned out a skirt for her (& possibly etsy:). Above is a pic(slightly blurry) of the little wooden playhouse Devin and I painted, which I found the idea for on Angry Chicken's blog(what a Godsend)....well, she slapped on some of the turquoise color on the house and her hair and her dress... and then I fancied it up when she went to sleep. I added houndstooth paper for the carpet upstairs and my favorite pink vintagey pattern for the downstairs, pretty sweet. We also made some clothespin dolls...she hasn't seen it yet, I'm saving it for one of those rip your hair out what are we going to do I don't want to turn on the tv moments (probably tomorrow, she's 2)
